A batting slump signals the end of a
young man’s dreams, and a lawsuit
pitches him into danger.
From the time his grandfather placed
him on his knee and explained the game,
Randy Fowler has dreamed of playing
baseball. Yet when the time comes to
impress the college scouts, his
performance is mediocre.
A lawsuit filed against the school district of
rural Stiles County pits neighbor against
neighbor and teammate against teammate.
While Randy’s fraternal twin brother wants to
change the world, Randy is accused of
vandalism. Daunted by his brother’s success
and close relationship with their father, this
preacher's son doubts both himself and his
faith. He finds acceptance among unbelieving
friends, and lives with guilt in a house where
God is honored above all.
